Downhill Leogang: Rough day in the office

Race in Leogang was a special one for us. Oli was looking for some redemption after Poland, but even more important – this was first elite world cup race for Aimi! Both riders were fast on the well-known track, but unfortunately the results don’t reflect that.

Also worth mentioning, we introduced our new paddock setup in Leogang. It provides our riders with better shelter and gives our mechanics and staff a better place to work. Well, it also looks much, much better!

Our new home away from home.

Back to racing… It went great on Friday, with both Oli & Aimi looking sharp out there and both were riding with the smiles on their face. Saturday morning was a different story, with lots of riders on the track, Aimi also had a big crash (check her Instagram profile…). Qualies continued in the same manner, both of our riders slipped in the woods section… Oli was still close, but it wasn’t enough.

“Unfortunately, didn’t make qualies. After a rough first run practice struggling with the conditions I managed to find a flow and do another good lap. I felt really good in my qualies run at the top but unfortunately in the woods had a hugey which lead to not qualifying only 3 seconds back from making it in. It’s part of racing, on to the next one…”Oli Clark

“Rough day in the office. This racing thing is a tough game, had a morning of crashes and silly wee mistakes. Was super nervous going into quali unfortunately ended up laying her down in the woods. KEEENN for VDSnext weekend, lots of things to work on. Let’s goooo.” Aimi Kenyon

There is no time to think too much about it, we’re days away from racing in Italy, and this is where our focus is now! Hard work will pay off!
